Resumen
Abstract This paper presents a comparative analysis
on the performance of different satellite images (Landsat-TM, NOAA-AVHRR
and SPOT-Vegetation) to estimate moisture content of several Mediterranean
species. Results from quantitative correlation of field data and satellite
images are presented. They show a good correlation trend between moisture
content and remote sensing data in the short wave infrared (SWIR) region
(1.6 and 2 µm), both for grasslands and shrublands. For grasslands,
traditional vegetation indices, based on red and near infrared data,
performed also well, as well as a ratio of vegetation indices and surface
temperature. Determination coefficients of 0.8 and 0.7 were obtained from
multitemporal comparison with field data. Autores/Authors Palabras clave: humedad de la vegetación,
